'Protections alone cannot change the culture of homophobia that still pervades some businesses. According to one study, 41% of LGBT men & women do not feel comfortable enough to come out at work. These people invest a significant amount of time and energy into hiding an important aspect of their identity. As a result, they are less productive, less satisfied with their jobs and less likely to remain in those positions than their colleagues who have come out. That's why I'm supporting OUTstanding. It's vital that we bring LGBT executives together so they can share their stories and lead by example.'
