Communities & Intersectionality: Allies with Impact

Bloomberg, City Gate House, 39-45 Finsbury Square, EC2A 1PQ

9th May 2017 - 6pm

To truly drive inclusion we must identify and engage with various communities.  Our Communities and Intersectionality Series supports this aim by identifying key groups and providing a platform for senior leaders, future leaders and role models to convene to effect change.  Allies are one of the most powerful groups for any minority community and for LGBT+ communities even more so.  It has been the collective effort of role model activists and allies that has helped shift the dial on LGBT+ inclusion.

To continue driving this positive change we must learn what the drivers for success are and replicate these.  We know that it is behaviours, attitudes and actions that make allies successful.  To build on this success the event will explore and highlight precisely what works, so that this can be replicated and amplified across our network and beyond.  Bringing together influential ally voices, we will hear about why LGBT+ inclusion remains one of their personal commitments to equality and diversity and why other business leaders should be championing fair and equal treatment for the LGBT+ community.

Key themes

  • Practical business insights, case studies and key learnings from senior leaders
  • Challenges and tools for bringing organisations and colleagues on the LGBT+ Inclusion Journey
  • Personal stories about the catalysts and events that inspired their role as an ally
