INvolve had a busy Pride week as always and we were delighted to support members at their various events and functions.
We took part in a discussion about how workplaces can be more inclusive with BT, joined by BT Ireland Managing Director Shay Walsh and many BT employees. It was a lively and thought-provoking discussion alongside Moninne Griffith of LGBT Youth support charity BeLonG To and kick started BT’s Pride celebrations- there were of course cupcakes!
State Street hosted a pre-Pride breakfast, getting the whole family involved ahead of the big parade. With face-painting, a Pride quiz, Best Drag Name contest and delicious food!
One of our newest members is MSD, based in Leopardstown just outside Dublin City Centre, and neighbouring fellow INvolve member Microsoft who, re-launched their Rainbow Alliance network at a great event where INvolve spoke about some of the work they have done to help create inclusive cultures. The discussion also heard the personal story from MSD Ireland’s Human Health Managing Director Ger Brennan as well as a glimpse into the life of a young trans person. As one of our newer members, we were delighted to see such strong support internally for MSD’s event – and there was more cake!
We delivered ally training to number of colleagues at Aer Lingus – two great engaged sessions that we hope provoked some useful ongoing conversations and helped create even better allies across the business.
Our newest member, Expleo, asked INvolve to join a discussion on LGBT Heroes at the launch of their LGBT+ Network at their Dublin HQ, close by to fellow network members A&L Goodbody and PwC. The discussion was a fantastic launch to Expleo’s LGBT+ resource group, and was put together by Marketing Manager Siobhan Smith who said “I’m really proud to be a part of Expleo’s Diversity & Inclusion team and excited to see where the organisation will be this time next year.” Welcome to the Ireland network, Expleo, we are delighted to be working with you!
We were delighted to be asked to attend several Pride events from other members including HSBC Ireland, LinkedIn, Bank of Ireland, Grant Thornton and KPMG. Thank you to all sharing your Pride festivities with us – and even more cake!
It was great to see so much representation in the Pride parade too, with PayPal, Northern Trust, Irish Life and Mercer among our members being loud and proud! Well done Ireland! #WithPride
